Collaboration in Consort School- Professional Development
PLRD Expectations: - school goals and focus follow AISI project - students are engaged in their learning - academic achievement for all students (drop out rates/PAT/Diploma results) - environment that enriches student experiences and relates to “real world” lessons - technology has an increasing role in instruction - teachers within PLRD build their professional focus (TPGP’s) - instruction follows clear curriculum outcomes (daily/unit plans) - 21st century learning is occurring to benefit student achievement
How have we started to achieve these goals with a “formula” that EVERYONE on staff can be included in to meet PLRD expectations and our school goals?
Build a richer, positive, focused environment for our school- teacher/student groups
Encourage (nudge) teachers to “re-think” how they deliver instruction to better engage, prepare and stimulate student learning- provide collaborative sharing time
Share ideas within disciplines, divisions, outside our building, within PLRD, on-line provincially with other individuals that can help enrich our teaching
experience
